- – Heavy bleeding from the incision that cannot be stopped or continuously soaks the bandage.
- – Yellow or green purulent discharge with an unpleasant odor from the wound.
- – Prolonged swelling and pain that does not decrease after 5–7 days.
- – Painful urination, difficulty urinating, or purulent discharge during urination.

Principles to Adhere to Following Surgery
- Keep the wound dry for the first 24 hours, change the bandage properly (if adhesive, use physiological saline to soften before removal).
- Take medication as prescribed by the doctor.
- Wear loose-fitting clothing and avoid strenuous activities.
- Shower after 1–2 days with warm water, avoid scented soaps, and gently pat dry with a clean towel.
- Abstain from sexual intercourse for at least 4 weeks.
- Avoid letting urine soak the bandage.
Stages of Recovery After Circumcision
First 24 Hours
- Mild pain, redness, and possible slight bleeding. Gentle bandaging is necessary, keep the wound dry, rest, and take pain medication.
2–3 Days
- More noticeable swelling and bruising, light yellow discharge is normal. Clean with physiological saline, apply Vaseline, avoid strenuous activities.
5–7 Days
- The wound is dry, new skin is forming. Pain is significantly reduced. The bandage can be removed, continue gentle cleaning.
10–14 Days
- The wound is almost completely healed, no pain, may experience mild itching. Sexual intercourse should still be avoided.
Weeks 3–4
- The incision is completely healed. Sexual activity can be resumed after 4–6 weeks if there are no complications.

Post-Operative Dietary Regimen

Protein-rich foods: chicken, lean pork, fish, eggs, milk… help regenerate tissues.
Green vegetables and fruits: especially spinach, kale, oranges, strawberries, bananas… help boost immunity and fight inflammation.
Foods rich in zinc and vitamin C: such as oysters, seafood, bell peppers, oranges… help enhance immunity and heal wounds.
Drink enough water: 1.5 – 2 liters/day, helps the body eliminate toxins.
