“I cry not because I’m afraid of what may happen to me, I cry because I’m afraid my family knows and they might try to prevent me from volunteering to fight the pandemic with my teammates”, shared by a medical volunteer.

The wills of young doctors

“Their quarantine zone must be equipped with an emergency room with an oxygen tank for serious cases. In case a patient is too critically ill, they must be transferred and wait for the hospital to have an empty bed for them. At the peak, there were patients I transferred to the hospital from 9 pm, had to stay until 5 am to have an empty bed but it was too late” Dr. Phong sadly shared with a reporter of Vietnam Law Newspaper. Dr. Phong also knows when he is at the front lines of pandemic prevention, he will certainly face lots of dangers and has prepared himself that he may be infected at any time.
“There are two doctors in my area, one of them was exposed to the virus and just finished the quarantine time, so I have to be responsible both for my and his work. This afternoon I received a positive test result, so I have handed over the work to the other doctor” said Dr. Phong.
Despite the high spirit of a “white soldier” but they are somewhat afraid and depressed.
“I cry not because I’m afraid of what may happen to me, I cry because I’m afraid my family knows and they might try to prevent from volunteering to fight the pandemic with my teammates”, said Dr. Phong.

Similarly, Doctor Nguyen Do Duc Khan (27 years old), working at the cosmetology department with all doctors and medical staff at Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital, has been in the “battle” since the early days of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, this young doctor has participated in the fight against the pandemic at the No. 6 Field Hospital. He’s been in charge of various tasks such as taking samples for testing, pre-screening, vaccination, treatment, and taking care of F0 patients,…
Currently, the No. 6 field hospital is responsible for taking care of over 2,500 Covid-19 patients with 131 doctors and medical staff. Each doctor is responsible for 100-120 patients and more than 30 severe cases every day.
Unlike normal hospitals, field hospitals are always in inadequate conditions, sickbeds are always overloaded, requiring doctors to be independent and cope well with hard situations. Despite such harsh conditions, the doctor’s bravery and devotion are more than ever.
“Since participating in the fight against the pandemic, the volunteers have not had much time to rest, to finish their instant noodles, and to say hello to their teammates. I must be responsible for many jobs and tasks in a day, many days I can only sleep for 2-3 hours,” said Dr. Khan
In particular, when they joined the fight against the pandemic, they didn’t even care about the danger of the virus that could infect them. So this amount of work for them is very normal.
“Since the first time of studying and working in the medical field in 2010 until now, only 4 months of volunteering at the No. 6 Field Hospital, I have seen patients on ambulances, hospital beds, and patients fighting for their lives. I clearly see how Covid ravages the city. Everyone, please follow the quarantine rules, cooperate with the State to fight the pandemic, don’t let yourself and your family get Covid, it’s really bad if you unluckily get infected”, said Dr. Khan.
Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital supports the people in need
Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital is not only trying its best to fight the pandemic but also supports the people in need in Dong Nai Province.

Specifically, 5 doctors and 31 nurses came to support the People’s Committee of Nhon Trach province and in Long Tho ward, in terms of vaccination, taking samples for Covid-19 testing for people in the area. With the timely help of the medical team of Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital, the hard time of local medic will be resolved, thereby gradually stabilizing the situation in the area.
Understanding people’s difficult times. The Board of Directors of Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital and the medical staff made their small contribution, gifting each person after having vaccine a gift including rice, essential supplies, masks, alcohol disinfection to encourage people to overcome the current hard times and to contribute to the Vaccine Fund…
In the coming time, Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital will not only participate in the fight against the pandemic with people in Tan Binh district, but also may expand to participate in other areas, or mobile points when required by the Department of Health. Gangwhoo Cosmetic Hospital will continue to accompany the Medical Department and people to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
