You can wash your face after filler injection, but it should be done gently, avoiding hot water or harsh cleansers. It is best to use saline solution or cooled boiled water to gently cleanse the injected skin for the first 24–48 hours. Avoid massaging or vigorous rubbing to prevent filler displacement.
It is advisable to avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours after filler injection to reduce the risk of irritation and infection. After this period, if there are no abnormal signs, you can apply makeup gently.
The effects of filler are usually visible immediately after injection. However, the final results will be clearer after a few days once any swelling and bruising (if present) subside. Some fillers like poly-L-lactic acid may take 2–3 weeks to show their full effect.
The duration of filler effects depends on the type of filler and the injection site. Typically, the effects last from 6 to 18 months. After this period, you may need touch-up injections to maintain the desired results.
Mild swelling and bruising are normal reactions after filler injection and usually subside within a few days. You can apply gentle cold compresses to reduce swelling. If the condition persists or is severe, you should contact your doctor for advice.
