Dr. Phung Manh Cuong explains the areolar breast augmentation
The areolar breast augmentation method includes 2 main incisions to place breast implants. One is the inframammary incision, the other is the Omega incision.
For breast augmentation with the inframammary incision has a high risk of causing bad scars. Furthermore, this technique can reduce or even lose sensation in the mammary glands. To overcome this drawback, doctors have invented the Omega incision.
For breast augmentation with the Omega incision, the safety level is higher, the rate of bad scar formation is low, the scar after surgery at the areolar line will be more aesthetic and not cause the sensation loss of the mammary gland.
When carrying out breast augmentation with the Omega incision, the doctors will make an Omega incision and proceed to dissect downward.
There are two dissection techniques:
- The first type will invade a part of the mammary gland to place the breast implant. This type of dissection will be most suitable for breast augmentation cases that require an invasion of the mammary gland.
- The second is a more commonly used type, which separates the mammary gland and takes a non-invasive route to under the pectoralis major to place the breast implant.
The advantages of areolar breast augmentation
Things to remember when undergoing areolar breast augmentation
Women who are unmarried or married but have not given birth should be very careful before having areolar breast augmentation.
Areolar breast augmentation is less popular than the transaxillary breast augmentation method. The doctor will only consider using the areolar breast augmentation technique for some really necessary cases.
